ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
The finest present one can give to a child would be to teach him to know himself and master himself. The Mother Navyug Vidyalaya was founded by Lt. Madanlal Himmatsingka an illustrious and enlightened industrialist of Bhagalpur who was an educationist a Visionary philanthropist Social Worker and a true Gandhian. He was greatly influenced by the life and philosophy of Gandhiji and had imbibed his qualities of nobility and simplicity. During his student days he took active part in freedom struggle. He was a man of infinite compassion and was always willing and ever ready to extend his helping hand to the poor and needy.
Children education was very dear to his heart. It was apparent to him that the prevailing system of child education did not satisfy the needs of the time. It needed a new approach and a new vision. During his foreign tours he visited several educational institutions of repute to acquaint himself with modern techniques of child education and in this process the method of education of Dr. Maria Montessorie appealed him most. As a result of this quest for a new approach to child education that this institution in its nascent form-a Primary Co-Educational School imparting education through Montessorie method was formally founded in 1945. It was a pioneer project of its kind in the whole state of Bihar. The idea was that the children must be educated in an atmosphere of love and gentleness. Our school provided a caring co-operative and supportive environment which encouraged children to bring out the best in themselves. It was based on the principle that education is the development of the whole man-body mind intellect and spirit. The seed sown by him has now grown into a big tree. Later in life he turned towards spiritualism. He was an ardent devotee of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. He placed his entire wealth at the feet of the mother and renounced the world and became a Sadhak at Pondicherry Ashram. He is no more but we continue to feel his spirit as a living presence and we cherish his memory.
